Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Nox sensor faults

    Hi all.
I have a 2005 golf 2.0fsi that had the normal NOX Sensor issues. I have 2 nox modules, one flags DTC P1072 Nox sensor heating control signal elec error in circuit. Implausible signal.
Other module flags DTC P1033 Nox sensor signal too low. Lower limit not reached.
I know I could buy a new one from VW but not at $1800.00 I'm not. I have tried a couple of aftermarket ones but they don't seem to work.
I seem to remember a while back on this forum that someone had the same issue but managed to find a workaround for it. Maybe found a way to tune it out?
Any help would be appreciated as there is very little info out there on this engine (engine code BLX). Car runs perfectly but would love to get rid of the check engine light.
    TIA.

Hi, did you manage to sort this issue? I have a 2005 golf with the same issue, just don't wanna start working at it unless I know there's a solution
