Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Edition 30 to Australia

    Hey -

My partner and I are likely moving over to Sydney for work in the next 12 months. We have both an Edition 30 and MkIV R32 which we might bring with us under a personal effects type import arrangement.

My understanding is that there are no ED30s in Australia - does anyone have an idea of ballpark value for something like this in the Aus market? Really only for insurance purposes, as I'd intend to retain it. Just seems like something that is quite hard to value if there is currently no market for it.

Any thoughts / contacts for valuation would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

There's plenty of Pirellis, much the same car.

Hi and welcome. We didn't get the official edition 30 Golf GTI here in Australia, but we got the Pirelli edition GTI which was similar (different interior to normal GTI, different wheels, K04 turbo with more power etc, and limited edition - only 200 I believe) so perhaps do a little research on the Pirelli edition and go from there.
