Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf R32 O2 sensors

    Hey all

    Have a golf R32 2008

Thanks for the add on this forum. I've been told there are 4 O2 sensors and some of them are playing up.

    The error codes:
P0430 - Catalyst system, Bank 2 Efficiency below threshold lower limit not reached (Intermittent)

P0420 - Catalyst system, Bank 2 Efficiency below threshold lower limit not reached (Intermittent)

P0441 -Evap Emission contr.sys incorrect purge flow Lower limit not reached. (Intermittent)

So from my understanding theres an issue with the sensors but unsure which out of the 4? Or rather just change them all? Or is there a maintenance method such as cleaning the sensors if possible.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

    Thanks
    Ezat

Have you still got Cats installed? These are the rear probes that are faulting. Decatting needs a tune update to prevent this. If you still have cats, then maybe new probes will be the cure.

The Evap canister is the other fault. That or the N80 valve which allows the fumes to enter the manifold.
