Golf VI GTI (concept) announced. Full reveal at Paris Motor Show in 8 days.

In 1976 the Mk I Golf GTI was launched as a low volume addition to the Golf range. Thirty two years, five generations and 1.7 million sales after that car established the breed, the sixth generation of the GTI has been unveiled in concept form ahead of its public debut next month at the Paris Motor Show.

Articles hint that manufacturing will begin Spring 09, (April 09) and if it takes 6 months to get here, thats October 09 - UGH, I don't want to wait that long.

Oct09? i wonder how long will the wait be? Tiguan is currently 6 months. hold your breath if you decide to wait for Golf VI GTI and be prepared to pay RRP.

Mk VI multimedia website launched in german. Lots of high resolution photography.

No room for a boost gauge, so I guess they'll swap out the temp gauge again.

That's the dash from a diesel model.

                          Keeping The Gti V

I still think the Mark V will still be of good value for years to come....Will find a Oettinger Kit and spruce it up.....

Drive is reporting that the MK VI is due to go on sale in March (not long now!)

The world’s most popular Volkswagen arrives in March in its sixth iteration. Golf VI is not a generational change underneath, however, with the fifth-generation model’s platform carried over with some modifications.

There is an all-new range of smaller engines, however, which are more fuel efficient – yet also more powerful – than those they replace.

A 1.4-litre turbo replaces the 1.6 in the entry-level Golf, while the 2.0-litre is superseded by a 118kW 1.4-litre ‘Twincharger’ that features both a supercharger and turbocharger. VW Australia sells as many diesel-powered Golfs as those on a petrol diet, so a couple of TDI engines are included in the line-up, including a new 2.0-litre diesel.

Yes, but GTI not until 3rd quarter.

Someone mentioned to me that VWA have enough GTI MkV stock to satisfy sales until new model arrives.
