The yellow is the same as the special edition Beetles from a few years ago I reckon. If so, it's a bit lightweight for a limited run GTI.
But 169kW from factory is pretty cool.

Wow, I love it! Usually a yellow car won't do too much for me (apart from the Mazda6's when they first came out and I was uber youngen
) but I really like this one. It works well IMO.

Yeah, GIAC/APR claim 180ish kW and 400ish Nm, but you're getting factory warranty etc. Although, you're right, would be nice if the Nm figure was a bit higher.

Perhaps they didn't want to exceed the R32 power output and performance...? Also could be an emissions issue. Clearly they could have gone further.Comment

looks awesome, love the tread patterns on the seats.
wheels are sweet, but i reckon centre caps are a corny. would look way better with normal vw caps opposed to the pirelli - "power is nothing without control".
in saying that, vw aus obviously held back release of this (compared to europe and us) - to use it as a last roll of the dice to help boost sales coming into the end of the mkv life cycle. a little bit like them releasing the R32 in candy white for 08.
mind you...i have contemplated selling my mkv gti...cause a CW R32 is well sweet.mk2 GTI 16vComment

Its a nice engine & it chips up very nicely (the motor is termed the "Edition 30" OS) - I spent a fair bit of time working on them when I was in the UK earlier this year.
It runs some of the S3 hardware on the higher compression GTi engine.
I had an order in for one, but had to cancel it when they told me DSG Only!Comment
