  • Mk5 GT sport diesel, coolant leak from rear of engine??

    Hi Everyone

I've developed a coolant leak on my 2008 GT sport diesel.
It appears to be coming from the rear of the engine, left hand (passengers) side.I'm, really confident it isn't the radiator itself at the front of the car! I checked by jacking up the car and took of the under engine tray...
But i can't see where't's coming from , either at the top of the engine, or from underneath.

    I read on this thread : http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...lp-118749.html
it could be the plastic outlet flange on the gearbox end of the cylinder head

Anywhere I can identify where that is on the engine before i start ripping the car apart or get raped at the mechanics?
Or what the part number I need to replace?

I tried looking on Youtube but the golf engines there for a similar issue didn't look like mine

Could it be anything else? it's definately leaking externally.
6 months ago I got the timing belt done, along with water pump etc at the same time...hopefully not something failing there (shouldn't be, it's the other side!)

    Help much appreciated.

    Cheers, Tim
