Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Is this a good deal for an R32?

I've been looking at only private sellers for the R32, but noticed this one from a dealer. It was originally priced at $54'990 and has been reduced to $47'990, very low ks and includes Recaro seats. I've never bought from a dealer and don't particularly want to either, but this seems like a great deal. However usually when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is! So what do you guys think? Good deal? Bit sus? Or is this the going rate for an 07?

Is it an ex-demo car? If it is, you might wanna check out this thread.

      f**k!

Will have to check to see if it's a demo car or not. Another reason why I'm reluctant to buy from a dealer. I guess its a bit like dating the town sl ut, you don't know who's ridden her and how hard.

Demo or not, personally from years of experience I still think it is much safer to buy from a reputable dealer than to buy privately, especially for the kind of money your looking at spending. It's up to you which way you go but remember not all privately sold cars will have been treated any better than a demo would have been and the way people are into (mods) nowadays ( especially if it was previously owned by a vwwatercooled forum member ) your warranty could be at risk if something does go wrong and it has been tampered with.

Good Luck whatever way you go !!

I'd certainly consider it. Whilst it may have been given plenty of stick at times, I rather suspect that there are plenty in private hands that have been driven very hard.

Have you contacted them? Is this the price for drive away?

Looks like a good price to me, but where's the catch?
