So, been waiting for my GT Sport Diesel to arrive (bluetooth, ipod, DSG) with some anticipation. Got the call yesterday that it was in, went to see it this morning.

My DSG had turned into a Manual, and the salesman, whilst being very apologetic, wasn't too confident about the chances of having another car anywhere in australia.

Does anyone know if VW are willing to give "loaners" in a situation like this? It seems somewhere along the line in all the quoting and stuff for a salary package that someone has changed the "Sequential Manual - DSG" into just plain "Manual"..

If you can pin the blam onto VW (Dealership or VAG)...then I would think you stand a good chance.

If it is through Salary Sacrifice...then you may find that the finance company will hold you responsible, as you are required to check EVERY minute detail on EVERY document they ask you to sign.

Similar thing happened to me...they tried to have tint included with the finance deal...told them to GTFO. Wasn't in the original vehicle specs that I signed the contract (dealership) for.

I've re-checked all of the documentation I signed - it's all DSG. The problem was between VW and the finance people, they screwed up.

The question I have to find out on Monday will be if VAG were the ones who muffed the quote, or if the finance people did something wrong.

Not for a TDI it aint. Too much gear changing to keep it in the sweet spot. DSG is the PERFECT box for TDI, if you ask me.

If they offered me a .:R, I wouldn't say no, but I'd prefer diesel.

I've basically said I'll compromise on everything - as long as there is a diesel GT Sport with DSG somewhere, I'll take it.

Oh, I'll milk it, but at the same time, no car isn't quite as fun as any car.. so if I get a white one instead of the red i ordered, or if I have to get dealer parking sensors instead of the factory ones, so be it.
