  • HID Conversion for MkIV Bora

    Hi All,

anyone ever looked into the feasibility of converting to OEM HIDs? I'm pretty sure that they were offered as an option in Europe on the MkIV Bora.

if your interested in a kit, let me know as about to get a whole bunch of kits in again.

my advice is to get aftermarket headlights iwth projectors as you'll get a clearer beam of light.

something like that, or without the angel eyes.. but you get what i mean!

I was thinking more of the actual VW OEM HID light assembly with ballast etc..not aftermarket kits...

Yep, TM Tuning have them for sale.

My concerns are around how difficult it is to install the whole kit & kaboodle (including self-levelling, washing system, etc), or whether good projectors would be a better alternative (since the legal requirements there are easier, and thus cheaper, to meet).
          Nothing to see here...

If I get my Bora V6 4Motion, I'm considering the following headlights from TM Tuning:

And I'll match them to these taillights:

I think they'll look pretty schmick!

I like your thinking, I put very similar headlights on my 02 4 motion and the exact tail lights and I get so many comments about it.

Are you getting tail lights in too? I looked into LED tail lights... costs a friggin mint to get into aus. though!

Was thinking something like these, or just something to suit black golf that light up decently. Stock ones are bright as when you brake, but not a fan of the red plastic with black paint.

these be the style of headlights you recommend for golf?

Just with the headlights; Do normal headlights have light shields to stop you blinding oncoming drivers? HID's have them, dunno so much bout halogen? Just that; if so, headlights would be no good from the US, as wrong side of the road.
