  • Bora 4motion not starting

After some help with my 2002 4 motion
    It's not firing !
Turns over fine, no warning lights all normal but won't fire up. Yes there's fuel in it.
Throwing a fault code p1049 (NRMA mechanic) which is crank angle sensor fault to ground.
Replaced the sensor and still no go. Checked all obvious wiring, fuses, even swore at it. Battery was disconnected and charged up, no help there ( thought might reset computer)
    Any ideas??

Pull the battery and battery tray check ground connections. Will it start with a jump pack on the battery?

I've pulled the battery and checked grounds under there and the earth strap to motor. The car is turning over fine, just not firing.
Hayden do you mean an earth to the cam angle sensor?
        Cheers

Check to see if it has spark, Pull one spark plug out and ground the threads against the engine block whilst still connected to the coil/coil pack and see if it sparks (be careful not to shock yourself).

Next, see if you're getting fuel. Take the supply line to the fuel rail off and open the door and see if it primes with fuel coming out. If not then try starting and see if that makes any difference.

It's probably just a dead crank sensor.
