Not my car ... you'd have to ask the owner (JVLR32).

The MkIV should hold its' resale better as well due to being a limited edition. In the 8 months I've had mine the average price hasn't dropped at all.

I bought mine with with 76000kms on it and am nearly at 89000kms now. I'm trying to keep the kms down so in a few years it should start to match with the ones with lower kms now. The problem is is that she calls to me and makes me go on long, pointless and awesome drives with no destination.

I prefer the look of the mark 4, but lose the wheels and the new one isn't too bad either.
I'll post up the article and some information about the driver of the two cars later. A quick search on here should bring up the article.
I must say the Red 3 door MkV that's at Highway at the moment looks pretty damn sweet. Definitely the best looking MkV R32 now (due to the colour).

When I was at the Brisbane motorshow VW and Audi had the best stands by far in terms of cars (excluding exotica of course). However only the R50, RS4 and R8 really made me think that I'd get rid of my R and get one of them instead (pity about the $ though).
The RNS510 is a big drawcard for new VWs now though (I like toys).
However a new GTI, R32, R36 or TT; I wouldn't trade my R for any of them.

my preference is the MKIV, for me its more of a cult car...

i reckon the interior is so much better than the MKV's, the new ones just look uglier with their dash etc

        MK4 ftw!

Its ok to try to keep the value of the car up by keeping the kms down, BUT did you buy your car to keep it in your garage? I bought my car to enjoy it, and i have done 25000km in a year and i didn't have my license for 3 months!

Didn't buy it at all for resale value and the resale doesn't bother me anyway. It's just another tick towards the MkIV.
I still haven't lost a single point (ever) by the way (touch wood).

A note to any MkV owners who have come in here. No one has said that the MkV is a bad/crap/rubbish car. We just prefer the MkIV. Thought I'd add that before anything happens.

Techtonics and Schrick are the only 2 cam manufacturers for the mk4 r32 that Im aware of that deal with the public . Here is a pretty good thread on what are the only cams available for the R32 :

there are a hell of a lot of good videos of single and twin turbo r32's on youtube.....both MKIV and MKV. god dammit with the twin turbo kit they are bloody fast, anyone know how much for it??

much love to the HPA twin turbo MKIV R32..... 0-100km/h in 3.2 sec

that car got me very far in gran turismo (3 or 4 ) on PS2.

you're just upset because you don't have one!

and don't say its cos you don't need one.....you remember the dyno day

personally though, as strange as it sounds.....i'm a big fan of turbo lag!

as for the MKV R32, i DID like them more until reading this thread....if the MKIV is more of a DRIVERS car then i definitely prefer that. why do an R32 for 'comfort', its a performance car ??

Has anyone on here used the HPA turbo kit on the R32? If so, did you buy it locally or order it online? Price? Can the drive train cope with the extra power?
Or are there other turbo kits you can get for these cars?
Also, what's the bad things about the MKIV? There's always a down side, even if it's a small one.

I believe there has been one turbo modification and one supercharger modification here in Australia.
I'm not sure which is which but one ended up on the back of a truck with a blown engine and the other spent an absolute truck load of cash only to rip it out when they couldn't get it right. I believe Al (quozl) knows more about them.

Also someone said that there's only 196 of the 200 Australian delivered MkIV R32s I think?
