  • R32 Style

    G'Day,
I'm new here so I hope this is in the right section.
I'm wanting to buy an R32 but aren't convinced about the series V styling.
I know it's a better car than the IV, but I love the style of the earlier car.
    Is this a common thought?
The series V has a long overhang at the front and the chrome grill exagerates this making it look like it's got a huge chin.
Can you get a new bumper that avoids this? Or do people paint the front grill on the new R?
What's peoples thoughts on the look of the new Vs old? Is it that much better that it's worth getting even if you're not into the look of it? The old one is proportionally perfect but I love the idea of the paddle shift and better performance.

    Cheers.

Welcome to the forum, Shaun. I guess the looks of a particular release level are fairly personal choice and, altho there is no measured consensus on this forum as to which Mk R32 is preferred ... I think you'd probably find preferences fairly evenly spread.

There's the school of "love the pure rawness of the Mk IV R32" versus those that appreciate that the Mk V has about 6 KW more power (std) and is a more 'refined' vehicle ... ie: Softer suspension for a more 'comfy' ride.

Depends on what you are looking for, I guess.

      Cheers,
      Dave

Yeah I hear Ya, I'm definitely leaning toward the Mk IV.
For me the style is far better, the more aggressive drive is better and the cheaper price is better too.
Anything I should look out for when buying one? And what's the cheapest way to get them up to 200 KWs?

Cams Exhaust and Chip (headers if you can affod them)

            my R has about 280 - 290 hp

if i went for more aggressive cams

284 286 and got headers and downpipes you can turn out 310HP

              only 32 in new zealand

but unfortunatly we have loose import laws here so we have ended up with another 20 or 30 jap import ones (the one saving grace with those is that they are all 4 door so its a blatant givaway!)

Isn't the mkIV quicker around the ring than the mkV ??

I prefer the look of the mark 4, but lose the wheels and the new one isn't too bad either.
