  • Locating parts for mk4 golf

Wanted to ask if anyone knows the best place to get a replacement master window switches bezel, specifically beige.

Cant seem to locate any online that suit RHD, is there somewhere I can get one that's genuine if its not too expensive or non-genuine.

Also, where do you guys get parts for genuine/non-genuine, any online stores or just a local dealer?

    cheers

Cheers, had a thorough look but oddly most are for LHD from China :/
ECSTuning is LHD too so I'm not sure where else to look.

Whats wrong with it? Does it just need repainting?

Yeah pretty much. Would prefer to buy another if possible over doing it myself.

            Paint is your friend [emoji14]
Sourcing grab handles as such is not worth the expense as they will wear exactly the same as the ones in your car now
Even if you get them second hand from a wrecker they will have the same problem with the peeling rubber trim and or cracked woodgrain if you have it

You can grab a kitchen scourer and scrub all handles to get the rubber coating off
It does improve them by a lot and you can then hit the plastic with some protectant like armorall
I done that with my shifter surround but I'm currently in the process of refinishing all of my door handles

First picture is primer putty and second is after a coat of black
It's a tedious process but will be good once it's all done

All mk4s are the same and is to do with the terrible rubber paint they use for trim pieces [emoji23]

Hmm that seems do-able I guess. Is there a colour mixing code to find for the beige colour?
                Just spray can, right?

I wouldn't have a clue with the colour man
But yeah I'm only using spray cans from supercheap/repco

Even if you hit one handle with a scourer to get the rubber coat off you can see what it looks like
That rubber finish has to be removed completely before painting as the paint won't stick very well to it and will end up causing much more hassle than what you set yourself out with

I ended up using paint from bunnings, satin black. Warm water with scourer does wonders with removing the peeling rubber.

Heres mine I painted satin black

I went a different approach with my interior and did a diy brushed aluminium affect

Looks like you guys did a good job.
I'm afraid I'll get the beige colour wrong if I do it. Will it look alright with just stripping the top rubber coat?

Caputo mate do you have photos of these installed in your interior? They look mint.
