Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Might be worth chatting to Anthony ( Dubster99 ) as I think he had similar issues at some stage.

I might have to send him a message kinda leading towards doing the whole loom though as the crashed gti I have has climate control

          re. Climate Control

Make sure you grab all the sensors from your donor car too - assuming they're not on the original ...

Still keen to know how you did the hatch popper. Did you end up getting the 3 button fob too?

Yeah I bought the kit from Ecs for the popper and then soldered a switch in the key. All the mk4 keys are the same so it is pretty straight forward. The. Bought a 3 button key housing no programming and it works straight away, works a treat

You can buy the micro switches of eBay the curcit bored already has the space to solder in the switch. It was preprogrammed into the car, apparently all cars with the two button remotes you can just solder in the switch and it works. I will post up some pics too so you can see what i did.
