Mk4 3 door build thread

Ok I have had the car for about 7 months now and when I first the bought the car it was in a bit of a sorry state!! This was when I first bought the car after I did a flatten and polish to the paint.

Since then I have spent about 1500 on parts to make the car mechanically a1. And now I am treating the car to a bit of paint and smoothing due to the body being full of dents and crows feet in the paint.

Are you leaving the aerial out ?
And as asked already what spec is this, and was it a UK import or one of the 3 or so mistake cars ?

Yeah I am leaving the aerial out and going to mount one in the rear window. Yeah it's an Australian delevered car, it's registered as a 5 door though lol. I thought there was a fair few more than 3 in the country?

Theres three i can remember that were 3dr 2.8l awd and seen about the same that are fwd. Thats weird how it registered as a 5 door though? So you shaving the hatch too? Going for a popper button to open it?

Yeah it's weird when ever you go to insure it or look up parts it always comes up a 5 door maybe because they weren't meant to be Australian delevered.
Yeah smoothing the tailgate and I am going to use a fuel cap realise mechanism to open the tail gate, should work a treat 😀. So ruffley only about 6? I might have to start up a thread and see how many are still floating around the streets of Australia, would be quite intresting!!!
