Adrian, those Porsche brakes must be pretty damn impressive, to upgrade from the R brakes.
haha - My current brakes give up after about 3 decent corners so this is good news.
However, i'm thinking that my braking distance will probably be increased with the larger discs, they will just be able to stop reliably over and over again without going off.

Hmmm. If you do it make sure you get some before and after stopping distances.Originally posted by SoVeReIgN View Posthaha - My current brakes give up after about 3 decent corners so this is good news.

I would've thought that with the greater surface area for the pads to grip onto plus with the bigger and stronger calipers that they'd pull up quicker for sure.

Ah I've got them from Tassie GTi on here - Got both front and rears, all calipers were damaged though so I've had to have them all rebuilt ($$!)
Going on today.. rears wouldn't fit though, the vented discs sit out further and the caliper bolts wouldn't meet the standard holes.
Need these guys - http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...productID=1781
Just ordered them from ECS so i'll finish having the fronts put on today (Waiting on VW for a new front brake line) and then i'll put the rears on next week. (Postage wasnt too bad, was going to do a big order but I need these asap)
Lots of head scratching for that one!! My brake dudes pulled it all apart and then had to put it back together.
PS. Painted them red yesterday.
EDIT: So in short, need full r32 calipers/discs/pads - The fronts are a straight fit but require the R32 brake lines (VW parts are a bunch of homosexuals though.. wouldn't sell me the line without an R32 VIN number.. ****s.. and $150 each!)
Rears fit on but require the ECS caliper spacer + bolts (Or could have them made up, but probably cost just as much)Last edited by SoVeReIgN; 23-06-2008, 12:25 PM.

Sounds like a fun little trip to the bottom of your wallet.
What happened to you not going to bother about getting the brakes due to them only giving less fade over time?
Will be interesting to see how the red calipers come up.sigpic

I didn't say I wasn't going to bother! I was just being realistic - These brakes are for the track/twisties (and to look pretty
)
Seb is sorting out what the place who did the brakes couldn't (spongey pedal).. and servicing the car.
Before

After

My red calipers came up fantasticly if I may say so myself... haha how long they last is another story.

My wheels don't really show off the brakes much so I wanted a bright colour so you could atleast tell they're there.Originally posted by FknDubbin View PostWhy paint them red?? The blue would have looked better!
And I dunno, whenever I think of brakes I think red, all the other colours are imitations.. Oh and red is faster
