I have the ECS vr6 clutch/g60 flywheel combo, and I must say its a VERY oem setup... It doesn't feel upgraded at all.

It feels different thou being SMF, Its considerably lighter than the OEM DMF... but I felt the DMF clamped better. I lost a lot of leg strength after swapping out the DMF haha.

I could not imagine having the flywheel any lighter than 20lbs,....... it would just feel ridiculous. Maybe a lighter flywheel would feel better if the clamping force was increased?

Maybe the stage 2 is what I was after (greater clamping force)... Stage 2 ECS clutch Kit

How much was your set up? Im thinking of getting the vr6 clutch kit from matt at candem gti for $380 and im getting a t4 flywheel for $24 so not bad at $400 my stage 1 cost me $334 usd excluding shipping but i ordered near $1k of parts back then. I think i got the 14lbs flywheel and was really light tbh. Hoping to get it all nack in next week and hopefully fixes the problem ive had for the past two months!

I had the kit delivered for $500 when the dollar was pretty good. The 20lbs flywheel is completely silent, no chattering.

It would be interesting to compare the original OEM machined flywheel vs the cast China variants.

I have a cast one which feels fine, but the guys from Camden say the original feels better.

Cheers mate! Its coming along slowly. Went to the wreckers and pulled out two t4 engines/ gearboxes out to get the flywheels for my vr6 clutch setup. Also picked up a clutch fork maybe to strengthen it. $64 all up isnt so bad!

So after alot of sanding im down to 600 grit wet and dry and tried the autosol to see how it came out. Pretty good shine but going to do a 1200 grit to get the finer scratches out then use a buffer with the autosol!

Also dropped of my spare clutch fork to Eleven Ten engineering and he welded it up for me. This will never bend!

Dubster. Congrats on all your progress. I have a question. You're using wheel adapters for those rims yes? Aren't you worried the insurance people might void your car claims if they ever find out? Or you just travel in those rims for car shows or something?

So its been a few days so time for an update!

Last weekend took engine out to do my reat main seal and put gearbox back on and decided whilst its out I will be going stage 3! Would have been so much harder to take it all out again so I guess its time.

So my parts list was as followed.

                      High flow manifold
                      Audi tt/S3 386cc injectors
                      4 bar FPR
                      3" MAF
                      DW 65v fuel pump

                      I already have
                      F4-T franken turbo
                      TIP

Hardest part to source was the injectors but managed to source some through a guy on facebook! $300 for a brand new set from hungary!
I have until May 9 to get it all together and run it at the SA dyno day.

Still have a huge list to do but will get through it pretty quick only it being 3 weeks or so!

So the rear main seal was fitted from factory and wll there my oil leak, so put mine in so carefully so I wouldnt fold over the seal

                      Heres the folded seal

                      And old vs new

                      Also changed my thermostat

Did the new main seal come with a plastic insert to protect it during the install? It goes over the crank so the lip doesn't get caught.
