    Hey guys
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to my mk4 1.6 golf
Ive already put a cold air intake and I noticed the change in performance

Very limited mate performance wise, thats why i ripped out my 1.6 and put in a 1.8t.

you could install a catback exhaust mate! got mine done at castlehill performance for 450 including tip and to cut out my rear valance, otherwise its just 350! feels abit more responsive from 1st to 2nd! and will go well with your CAI. the noise is phenomenal as well! not droning on highways and not too loud!

what can you do? depends what you want...
        power, I wouldnt bother,
handling a cup kit or coilovers matched with some new or upgraded bushes
new lighter wheels with improved offset and width and decent tyres
exterior can do a range of things from lights, debadging, replace valances, stubby aerial, and so on

        Vento VR6

        7P Touareg TDI

Spend my money on that instead of getting no performance on the 1.6

To be honest, spending money on a mk4 GTI is a waste of money aswell.
But as long as you enjoy the experience that is the main thing.

Spending money on any car is a waste of money but it's a mighty fun way to waste it!

buying the newest GTI isn't the greatest financially sound motive either....
spending a few grand on an ageing vehicle is always bad, but as long as you enjoy it.. who cares!!

Would love to know how much this costs/how it works out if you can get it done.

Will not work, best bet is to get a 1.6 or do a conversion like me. Depends how much you have invested into your golf. If not much best to sell it and buy a GTI. Your engine will pop as its not made for running for a turbo.

Can you elaborate a little more on this? is it just that the NA motors have a higher compression ratio? because that can be reduced easily enough, or just run low boost.. or are the pistons/ conrods not forged? headstuds not strong enough?
