Ooh I don't know about that. Love my aristos to death, would be hard to let go. It's only a set of wheels but I reckon they're just going to keep appreciating in value and just how good of an oem wheel they are. But they do suck up alot of torque. They freaking weigh a tonne

They're such a nice wheel it's ridiculous! Didn't know that though, a price to pay to look that good?

Got some fk streets on their way to my door, thanks for the tip man!

Alot of people have got the Fk's now. Hope you're happy with them and they're not to bad. You notice a difference but the 1.6/2.0 isn't fast to start with so it doesn't really matter I guess.

Yeah I read around for a while and ended up getting them for around 400 delivered so happy days!
Aha yeah acceleration is definitely a bit non existent but I love my car. My build will be starting in the very early in the new year! Speaking of power, A good mate just bought a 94 vr6.. Envy isn't even descriptive enough haha

                Read above post again. #trolled

As a few of you guys know I've finished the 1.8t conversion. Just gotta keep updating the thread.
Bought the car from Matt @ Camden GTI, cant thank him enough for helping out even after the conversion was done.
125xxxkm & Full log books. (What a steal!)

Day i got the car (Friday)

That afternoon had the 1.6 front end off and wiring out.

Unfortunately i didn't get any photos of engine out and in. So we skip to the 1.8t already in the car

Check out the gnarly oil leak on the manifold... Started about a week before it was pulled out..

                Braap Braap

Still have plenty more things to do, but things are getting done slowly but surely. K04 time in the near future

it needs the right Size tyres to fill the guards better.

                              Thanks Man its getting there

So after getting back from nationals I had a little surprised custom code phase 1 ecu sent to me by Gavin. A few people have asked what I think of it so I thought I'd do a little post about it.

                              First impressions;
Cold startup has changed ALOT. I had a problem where it would be a little rough for 20 seconds when cold. Completely gone. Exhaust note also became a little deeper.

First drive with the new lighter 17's and tune. Fun is an understatement! Instant change in the way the car drives, come on boost alot earlier, torque curve feels strong and doesn't drop off like before. Also before I noticed when driving spirited it would have a moment before back on full boost. Now it's instantly back to 16psi through gear changes. Torque steering around is also quite fun

After driving the car daily to work for the week to see what fuel is like. I've noticed on the highway I can get an extra 50-70kms out of a tank on average. All in I'm very happy with how it's transformed the car. I'll be getting a new exhaust and a few other bits and getting it tuned to phase 2!

And I've also got the enkeis fitted fitted!

That's all for now. Should have some more interesting updates in the near future.

                              Lucas.

If it's pulling the steering around, have you looked at the rear LCA bushes. The std Golf ones are pretty dire. If you need new ones, definitely get the S3/TT ones. They are solid and last much better. I replaced the ones in my S3 when I got it and they have done 80000 now and still look really good.

                                Gavin
