  • Seat warmers remotely

    Hi,

Hopped into the car this morning and I was thinking of the feasability of being able to turn on the seat warmers remotely without turning the car on.

I dont think it would be to hard to do, anyone had a thought or done it ?

Theoretically you could wire it up to permanent power and put in a momentary on switch with a circuit which then turns it on for XX minutes. You could then wire up a wireless remote to activate the switch. Add in a little light to tell you when it's on.

The upside, you can remotely turn it on, the downside, when driving along it would turn off after XX minutes unless you pressed the switch again. The way around that would be to put in a hard on switch, but then you run the danger of leaving it on permanently. (You could also consider a timer to turn it on at a certain time each day)

Consider the above susgestion something you could do yourself. If you want to get more fancy and include a timed remote switch while retaining stock functionality... well then you need to go to an auto elec. You need to know when giving power to the seat warmers that you may also be powering up something else, which isn't always a good thing.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
