When I first got my A3 1.8T, I was easily getting 600km, and this was with a not-so-accurate fuel gauge. I don't know how far I can take it but I remember hitting past 650km before filling up again and it took ~52L to fill up to the brim. This is driving in a mix of suburban and highway roads and with a busted DV (so I would usually rev it enough to hear the venting sound haha).
    Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
    Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

I get a consistent 600km from 50L of 98RON, even though I tend to thrash it at every traffic light and run the AC usually. Love it. (Running unknown brand chiptune, BMC filter, stocker wheels, Motul 8100 X-Cess 5W-40 and Denso IK22 plugs).

        I use the same oil

Word. It's the first oil I've tried. How often do you change it? I'm thinking it could easily go 10,000km, being 100% synthetic.

Filled up yesterday, 530km on trip2, 56L of 98 went in.

Every 5000km. Also using a large sized oil filter, my engine now holds close to 5L. It's sitting on 175,000-ish km though.

I should've gone for the mk4 gti instead of the VR6. Costing way to much for a uni student like me.

Yeah, it will in my experience. You should hear my S3 with the enclosed pod filter, it sounds like a mini atmospheric DV now. My missus thought she broke it.

Even with the standard airbox, you could hear it flutter a fair bit.

Who are you going to for the tune?

Neru has a '98 a3 1.8T same as me, he already has a revo stage 1 tune on it so we're looking in to swapping our ecu's as he's going to get his custom mapped (saves him remapping over a revo stage 1 tune!!) so its kinda a win win if all goes to plan...

do you know if this can be done? think we need to get the ecu coded but i think hes all over it...

                      thanks gav!

btw if this falls through - you're my next point of call!! great feedback from everyone who has experienced your expertise!!

On Caltex 98 i got 420kms from 45L of fuel, thats pretty much inner city stop start with a blast through the national park.
How many litres in a GTI tank?

I'm pretty sure it'd be the same as my bora and it's got a 55L tank
