    Thanks for the link. I'll go through the diagnosis first to make sure it isn't the coolant sensor, before I buy any more parts that I don't need...Much better price though,thanks.

      I got my info from FAN PROBLEM - POLL SYNOPSIS - uk-mkivs
      And I made this diagram to help some people there understand it a little better...

      Each fan has a completely seperate pair of circuits...
      They have a 3pin connector. Ground / Low Speed Power / High Speed Power
      So it's 1 resistor per fan as both fans have a low speed circuit.

      You don't need to cut anything (I didn't). I cut off a small piece of the insulation, and spliced the wires from the resistor between the "Low Speed Power" (red/white wire) and the "High Speed Power" (red/black wire) with a soldering iron...

      Dodgy mspaint circuit diagram... You will need to do this for each fan that doesn't work on low speed...
      Black = existing wiring
      Red = New Wiring / Resistor
      Red Dot = Connection Join (I used a soldering iron, but good quality high current crimp on connectors may work)
