Cheers Oliver! I didn't plan on it going together so quick but everything I needed jumped in front of me wanting to be purchased [emoji23]
Yeah I don't know man! Maybe I just had the coils set too soft even though the rear is set on 20/30
But the car handles a lot better at this height, no rubbing that I need to worry about, and my parents are happy aha! They did not like the height at all lol
Eventually I'll go a little lower but atm i can't without removing the perches, so I need something smaller that can replace them to get the height I want, without driving my parents crazy and attracting too much unwanted attention aha__________________________________________________ ______

Haven't done much over the past few weeks with getting my exams out the way except finding that my swaybar and driveshaft seem to be having a war againstt eachother [emoji23]
Will sort it out during the week but may order adjustable droplinks and get them strengthened by an engineer when set at the right height (trying to defy the odds [emoji39])
Cars still going great but needs a few things fixe I may or may not fix them myself in my month off of uni but still indecisive [emoji16]
Either way she will be running perfectly in the next few weeks [emoji23]__________________________________________________ ______

Hi guys I've the past few weeks of having my GTI I've noticed a rattle that's starting to form in my roof which is coming from my sunroof [emoji58]
Only happens when it's fully closed. If I tilt the sunroof up the rattle goes away.
Either it's from when I close my door or going over bumps it's annoying haha
I've read a few forums of this being that the sunroof has worked its way loose and I need to remove the headliner to tighten everything back up.
Have any of you guys had the same issue?__________________________________________________ ______

Being on holidays now I've got some time to spend on my car and up at a mates house I took some pictures with a view [emoji14]
And over the weekend I decided to tint my taillights to my liking (compare to previous pictures [emoji38])
Finally got a chance to get the beast into my mechanic after having a bit of a neglected life with the previous owner.
Timing belt, waterpump and spark plugs were replaced, with a full service
Waterpump was in multiple pieces and the spark plugs looked roasted to a crisp [emoji16]
I'm glad I can drive it without having to worry about it anymore!!
A few little things need fixing like a cv joint, but will all be done in due time
Will be good to get modding again sometime soon [emoji38]__________________________________________________ ______

Thanks man!
My mechanic supplied and fitted everything
$1000 seems to be the going price for the work with my quotes being about the same
But being different states I'm sure the premiums would be a little different
Just don't leave it too long because there's a chance it looks like mine haha
After looking over the part it looks like it hasn't been replaced in the cars lifetime even though my log book says differently [emoji16]__________________________________________________ ______

Currently in the process of getting rid of all the annoying rubber painted trim and fake cracked woodgrain in the car!
So far it's looking a lot better than the first coat and almost ready for some paint
Debating on how I'm gonna do the centre console area but I'll see what I come up with
I've gotten the rubberised paint off with a scourer already but not sure if I'll paint it__________________________________________________ ______

Caputo's MKIV GTI Build Thread
100th post [emoji23][emoji23]
Finally installed my freshly painted door handles the other day and I'm very happy with the way they came out
I had ideas of painting the woodgrain trim gloss black, which I did but due to the nature of the paint I found it to scratch too easily so I went and used the vinyl wrap I bought a few weeks back
Got sick of looking at tree sap on my windows and after trying multiple methods I ended up using ultimate compound and tech wax and came out great
Then today after getting fed up with a rattle in my sunroof I pulled my headliner out to fix it
It turned out to be a small plastic clip that supports the tilt mechanism on both sides that worked their way off to be metal on metal
Those pieces were sitting against the drain pipes on the inside
So once clipped back in place it was fixed
Also picked up a few pieces from a mk4 at upullit including a new antenna base
Anyways more mods to come soon__________________________________________________ ______

i tried multiple methods off google and nothing would work, tried polishing/waxing and it came out alot better
not 100% but its nowhere near as noticeable
im probably going to get my windows opti-coated in the near future so will be good to have it removed properly__________________________________________________ ______
