so... after posting in the newbie's corner Robbie asked for some pics of my new toy... booked in for window tints tomorrow

i do have a couple of questions while im at it.
whe i test drove the car everything seemed cool, nothing out of the ordinary, but after being in traffic this morning on my way to work i noticed the car making a kind of unsavoury noise on take off and engine breaking... to describe it kind of sounds like a mix between some weird induction noise and a rattle coming form the engine. the other weird part of it is that it magically disappears after 1200rpm, little just stops not slowly fade out or anything. any got any ideas?

other question is, when i thought id check it out. couldnt find an answer for my self, but i did notice a tapping noise coming from the second cylinder from the right (dont know which number that is) its like a thuddy tapping noise and if you have a finger on the coil you can feel it faintly.... did i buy a bomb? all be it a pretty bomb?

yes mario is my first mod.... does anyone know what that recall code refers too? what got recalled and fixed?

The recall was for the replacement of the coilpacks.

Find someone with vagcom and scan your car for possible errors.

Good to see plenty of MK4 R32 action going on. Like I said, do the flapper mod ASAP, it will transform your R32's sound. How dark are you going with the tints? You will definitely need to spend a lot of time polishing up those exhaust tips as it seems like they have never been touched in the time of the previous owners.

not sure yet, probably 10 or 15%... im plugging the actuator hose today when i get rid of stickers for the tinter ... a meet would be cool! hopefully then someone can show me how to use the stereo haha i dont get it, and theres no pause button!

Be sure to get onto someone with a vagcom cable and have the car scanned when you can so that you are aware of any problems..

ill check out this vagcom business, i work with a bloke who he and 3 of his mates have audis and he used to work at a dealership so ill see if he has some access to vagcom. thanks 2000!!!

just did flapper mod sounds awesome!!! but... i have no jack and this is the 3rd car ive bought with out a jack! are jacks worth money or something? why do they disappear?

You're not missing much with the jack.. It's honeslty a P.O.S! Just get a decent trolley jack and you're sorted.

got tints done, looks good except they didnt tuck it in enough on the rear windows and now the edge of the headlining is poking through :-/ but over all looks mad! im ringing them tomorrow, theyre good blokes so i dont think theyll mind fixing it... hopefully
