As the title says, when I release the handbrake, it is still sticking, but not with noticeable drag. I first found out when I smelt burning to find a red hot disc.
I've been leaving my car in gear and not engaging the hand brake, only way I've found to release it is to lift the handbrake up and down whilst driving and then it seems to let go.
I took the wheel off yesterday, and looked at the cable, the movement of the cable seemed fine but gave it a bit of grease. Then the lever arm that holds the cable, this was very very stiff, but it didn't seem to stick.
Is it the actualy piston on the caliper not releasing correctly? And if so, how do I fix it?
Cheers
