  • Beetle turbo

What does everyone think about the beetle turbo? Which is essentially a GTi in drag, I'd like to hear people's opinions on the car since I've grown quite fond of it and may contemplate acquiring one in the future.

    Cheers, Branko.

Theres a dude on vortex that used to own a beetle turbo, one of my good mates cousins..

Although his gf drove it most of the time and he drove a GTI. lol

I reckon a Beetle RSI would be the goods. S3 in a different shell iirc.

my 2 cents - no on the new beetle.

              something different:

              work a kharmann ghia?

              Polo GTi's are nice?

get a turbo diesel and work that?

A hardcore 3 door mk3 is still to be done down here tho there was a nice vr6 one that someone owns. Even a mk3.5 cabrio.

i'd say go for it if you want one. is your choice. never owned one myself but have been in one before and after APR upgrades.. man what a difference.
When we purchased our new beetle cabrio we test drove a beetle turbo.. were not impressed with its power in stock form and found a 1.6 ikon that we test drove to be better in performance (wtf?!?!?) dont know what had happened to the turbo .. so we went for the cabrio. when we went for a drive in the apr upgraded turbo we were spewin we never got the turbo and did the upgrades... think they had 160kw.
unfortunately you would have to buy second hand.

i had a beetle loan car for a week (although 1.6 auto and barely drove it ) and let me tell you every single thing about the car is horrible, the whole thing is a complete POS, not just the engine that i had. the second you get into one to test drive it you'll want to vomit

sorry guys no offense to the 1 or 2 beetle owners on here, i just dislike the car

A beetle is exactly the same as a Golf mk4 so it can't be too bad.. ??

                        Beetle turbo = Golf GTI

Beetle RSI (Didnt come to Aus) = Audi S3
