I called Heasman's last week and he informed me that VW Aust fit Mk4 R32s with Monroes to lower the price point here, apparently R32s had Bilstiens in UK
Hmmm
I am now debating Koni Yellow with Eibach or Bilsteins shocks alone (obviously no lowering)
Yeah the stock shocks are Monroes. It's a US spec suspension package. It sits higher, the shocks are spongier and not matched to the springs and the swaybars are also not as thick/stiff as the European spec ones.
Cheap ass idiots...
There are 2 settings the stiffer it is the more oversteer you will get.
I bought a haldex controller and the H&R RSB and looking to have it on the least stiffest setting as im scared it will promote too much oversteer and make it tail happy.
BTW i have Bilstein PSS9's

stunning car Trent , R32's look so awesome when they are a tad lower than stock.
Can't wait till I get my Coilovers installed too =).
What's next on the list?
Thanks mate. She's slowly coming together. I have an S3 lower tie bar sitting in the garage and as well as engine mounts being on their way. I want to do Haldex and hopefully a chip all at the same time as all those too. Will probably have to wait a bit to get the funds together to get all the last two though so will hold off for the moment so I can get everything installed pretty much at once.
Trent how did u set up the H&R RSB?

Both the front and rear are on the softest setting. With the R32 swaybar setup it is a thicker bar at the front than the rear. The H&R setup is 25mm at the front and a 21mm at the rear. Speaking to Al (quozl), having the softest setting is pretty close to the European setup. Also I believe he had quite a bit of lift off oversteer with the bars on their stiffest setting so as my R is not a track car I definitely don't want this kind of behaviour on the road.
My shock setup is softest at the rear and a quarter turn up from softest at the fronts. This overall with the springs gives a stiffer yet still reasonably comfortable ride as well as reducing the understeer due to the nose heavy nature of the beast. Whilst it's still being used as my daily work commute vehicle, I'd still like to keep it relatively streetable. I also have the TST rear strut brace installed as well.
Tis the season for flat batteries so it seems, from a few other threads around the place. Mine went flat the other week and it got jumped and all was good. However yesterday I ran the stereo for about half and hour and it went dead again, so I figured that if it can't hold it's charge for that long it's time to get a new one.
I picked up a maintenance free 550CCA Super Charge or something like that at Autobahn for $130 after the 20% sale price. It also comes with a three year replacement warranty so if it dies I take it back and they replace it no hassles.
So anyway Brisbane cruise today up Mt Glorious and then down to Wivenhoe Dam. A very good day.
Anyway I get home and the car is parked up for to cool. I forgot to close the garage door and look what happens.
Luckily she didn't get the claws out (only did this once when I startled her and that made me cry) but still the naughty little bitch!
Cheers,
Trent
