Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

vrt was about 1200 as far as i can remember?
No more coffee stained radio
Eventually got round to fitting this, it he handbrake sits at a different angle so when it's removed just drill out the mounting holes larger.
And stick it all back together, I removed the seats to make it a bit easier.
And part no's for the bits
One is for the console and one is for the fuel flap release button , the U.S has it in the drivers door.
All the way from Mexico.
And a repair kit for the broken hinge on the centre armrest

Mate that centre console looks good. Nice change getting rid of that stupid ashtray which always break. One thing I suggest is you get rid of that ugly wood grain go for aluminum finish. Here's a pic of mine

That console will fit the mk4 Golf - there's a few people with them locally. ECS sells something similar without the fuel release section as the US spec was slightly different. I think they were introduced in later years of the mk4 here. To fit it you'll need to change the angle of your handbrake slightly as mentioned in the thread.Comment
