Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

No more coffee stained radio
Eventually got round to fitting this, it he handbrake sits at a different angle so when it's removed just drill out the mounting holes larger.
And stick it all back together, I removed the seats to make it a bit easier.
And part no's for the bits
One is for the console and one is for the fuel flap release button , the U.S has it in the drivers door.
All the way from Mexico.
And a repair kit for the broken hinge on the centre armrest

Mate that centre console looks good. Nice change getting rid of that stupid ashtray which always break. One thing I suggest is you get rid of that ugly wood grain go for aluminum finish. Here's a pic of mine
Apart from that lovin the build mate looking sweet!!!

Loving your work mate ! question about the W8 light mod .. did it fit with the existing wiring or did you have to get a different harness for it ?VW BORA 2003 V6 4Motion

That console will fit the mk4 Golf - there's a few people with them locally. ECS sells something similar without the fuel release section as the US spec was slightly different. I think they were introduced in later years of the mk4 here. To fit it you'll need to change the angle of your handbrake slightly as mentioned in the thread.
