Got it! I had heard that NZ only got the 4door version, so congrats on getting one of the rare few 2drs. Mine is a UK import, so dash is all in mph/mpg etc, which actually I quite like ... makes it seem even more exotic

I've noticed oz only got 4doors. Have seen a yellow 2dr standard golf in akln to so there are some around. Are you in nz or oz?
It's funny how a 2dr is cool and exotic in austral asia when back home they're a dime a dussin! Haha
Oh man, I'm so jealous! I'm in oz, but was holidaying in the south island last year and had a one-night stop over in Christchurch. We didn't like the look of the restaurants round the b&b, so decided to "pop" down to Akaroa having heard there were some good places down there. I glanced at the map and saw some wiggly lines but didn't quite realize what we were in for! My GF is scared of heights, so even at a perfectly normal safe speed I was getting lots of "SLOW DOWN" directions in language I cant reprint here.
A day or two later, the night before catching the cross island ferry, we came across this piece of road out of Picton ...
Even more wiggly than the Akaroa drive and my GF thought we were going to die, and that was only driving an auto ford focus rental at or *below* the speed limit I bet there's hundred of roads like that round the south island though. Makes everything over here (especially in Perth) look very very boring.
