which convenience module do you have?
did the module give the correct beeps when you used it like its supposed to?

I should note that if you plug it in again it deactivates the function. The module then becomes useless as it has been coded to work once only.

Otherwise I suppose groups like us would just do everyone's car in one go

This is not true to my understanding.

It can only be used for a single car at once. So the first time you plug it in, it changes the codes in the car, and you can't use it for another car.

If you plug it back in, it removes the coding - and then you can use it on another car.

What you can't do is use it on multiple cars at once - which is reasonable, really.

oh i see, this must be what the latest ones do. the earliest ones didn't even have a deactivate function. it was just activate and then throw it away.

.If you have the 1C0 comfort control model do what I did and buy an el cheapo VagCom/VCDS cable

Thanks for the tip! The cheap cable and czeck software just worked on my 2003 golf. Didnt get a connection with my first attempt, but I took a brave pill and pushed the cable connector in with some more force and all was good after that.

Thought I would mention it just in case, since I made this mistake initially. You need to turn the ignition to the second position, not just radio on, but get the dash to light up with all of the warning lights etc.

From memory, I think I tried everything, off, on, acc, start... But, keen to get this to work, so will try it again.

Is your car failing to connect to the program, or is the program connecting but not working?

If it's not connecting then you have to test to make sure you can connect via VCDS-Lite and have the appropriate drivers. Then it should work with the program.

I cant remember, its been a long time since I tried.

I know the KVW100 just gives me constant beeps, which is bad. But I cant remember what the app said. Will try it again and see.
