well gang, having the keys to both my mk5 BKD 2.0L TDI Golf, and my 2.8L Bora 4Mo, I can tell you that I LOOOOOVVE the VR6 sound (its why i bought the Borry and why i keep throwing cash at her) but the torque of the stock-as-a-rock Golf oiler always tears my balls off and leaves them at the lights with the guy i left behind in my soot-trail. 320Nm torqueys stock, and over 400Nm with barely a mod to be seen and a good map. thats stupid numbers, so in a 4Mo and a small car it'd be a sweet combo.

I wasn't too keen on it at post #1, but i say now go for it champ. Find the cash and find a way.

I'm going to satisfy every forums useless fact poster.

If its any consolation the 24v vr6 was originally designed to be a diesel.

And I'm going to chime in with the anal-retentive "It was the 12V VR6 that was originally designed as a diesel power plant" with the 24V being a direct descendant of the 12V. Hence forged internals, cast iron block, timing chains instead of belts etc...

            Wow, thanks guys.

You need to remember that my VR6 is still going strong, with no signs of death yet so this is merely a 'what if ... ' scenario at the moment.

There are a few MKIV 4Motion variants in EU, some with oilers, so if my baby goes boom, I'll look into those options.

Hmmm, might even have an excuse to buy a Mk2 if that happens - cause I'll need to be mobile while the Bora is sleeping.
