Hmm, my dream Mk IV would probably be very different to the majority of people...

I'd probably start with a nice clean and tidy Black 20v V5 Bora with beige interior.

Body / Interior
Sport / 4motion Front / Rear Valances in body colour
All Chrome on the body changed to Black Chrome
Black chrome number plate backing (i.e. Euro Plate Sized with non Euro Plates)
Black Chrome Tail Light Surround
Replace Wood Grain with Black Chrome
Fit R32 Front Leather Seats re-trimmed in Beige.
Add black chrome surrounds to the dials.
Custom Fog lights in lower side vents (like MkV golf)


Suspension / Wheels / Brakes
Get the springs lowered by 20mm
Put a set of 17" (Preferable) or 18" mk V/VI GTI wheels on it with the ‘cutouts’ painted Black Chrome
Fit R32 Front / Rear Brakes
Fit 4 motion rear suspension (Yes I know that would mean changing the rear floor pan or custom making the correct mounts)


Engine / Gearbox / Exhaust
Port / Polish the head.
Port / polish the inlet manifold.
Custom 5 into 1 Tuned Length Extractors.
2.25” or 2.5” straight through exhaust with hi flow cat
SC14 Supercharger off a Toyota 1G-GZE running 6psi WITH the disable ‘clutch’ connected.
Fit 4motion 6 speed gearbox
Haltex Pro Controller.
Selectable speed sensor to disable the Haltex / Supercharger when doing less than 20km’s (to make it easier to park / u-turn)


So basically, it has to
a. Look discreet, almost stock, but still unique
b. Sound nice (love the sound of the V5’s)
c. Go well (nothing like a supercharger for nice consistent go)
d. Handle well (4wd all the way)
e. Be luxurious… (yes I’m getting old… lol.)


Alternatively might start with a 4motion and fit the VR5 instead of the VR6…
