  • faulty ignition coils ?

after many perals in rebuilding my hydrolocked vr6 24v i found out that the final peice not letting it run was that the original ignition coils were damaged when the engine was watter submerged and not working ( well four of them ) so i went on the net and ordered in all new ones from the us
today i recived a big box and opened it up to find i recived my aip electronics replacement items wich were aprox 20-30mm longer but took no notice

i went and instaled them in to the car and nothing every single one of them doesent work and the computer keeps showing up a missfire code for all six ? have i missed something do you have to install them in a particular way or are they straight plug and play ?

I reckon the 20-30mm longer bit is probably a good reason they don't work.
I've heard of spacers plates, but I'm not sure they will fix it for you.
