The other thing I'm saying is that it's more likely the previous owner didn't take care of the vehicle and that's the result of the condition it's in, rather than it being some terrible build quality issue - sure, there are lemon cars sometimes, and maybe you were unlucky enough to get a Friday afternoon special, but as a general rule, well looked after VWs don't just crap themselves out in ways like you're describing.
Without knowing (or wanting to know!) the reasons for not going to jmac, fair enough, we all have our preferences.Nothing to see here...

For what it's worth, Jmac's very highly thought of by most Brisbane members - I'm sure if you were willing to give him another go, he'd make sure he did his best to help (as he would anyway). I've always found him to be honest and up front about things.Last edited by Manaz; 12-03-2011, 07:58 PM.Nothing to see here...

no, im still chasing the other problems to be sure they arent affecting it. there is some major wiring issues as with all beetles but yer deffinately not right somewhere. things that dont work - cruise control, heater seats, air con, out side temp guage, oil light, one brake light works occasionally, dump valve has issues.
