I got tired just reading the summary! You didn't mention your antenna seal replacement though ... left the hardest to do later I guess then.
I did end up stretching mine over the top, then took it off because I wasn't happy, and repeated a few times. I'm still not convinced though that the rubber is seated properly, so will have a go at doing it properly sometime soon (i.e. pulling back the ceiling liner etc).2003 Mk4 Golf V6 4motion

I only did that yesterday but yeah forgot. Nothing too hard just pull the trim pieces off and pull the headliner. Unscrew the nut and replace the two seals.
My big seal was a foam type one so I couldn't stretch it over. It's also just there for looks as the thread has a o ring on it which is what seals it from water.sigpic

As long as its not your main car or you can get around some other way it shouldn't be a problem. Rear main seal was easy just tap it out and tap the new one in. The only other seal is between the transfer case which shouldn't be too hard.
Also forgot to add to that was the rear diff oil and rear haldex. Haldex isn't too bad now but that tool is a must. Putting the oil back in gets interesting but still nothing too bad.
I forgot to add aswell that the main pro of the entire thing was that now everything seems really easy in comparison. Makes the basic hard stuff seem simplesigpic

unless your running your tyres at temps well below freezing then there is no reason to use nitrogen, dry compressed air will do the same job (and a well maintained compressor with a moisture trap will get damn close)
I put 78% nitrogen in my tyres every time I have to fill them2001 Bora 4Motion A work in Progress

The amount i've spent on my car at the moment that's chump change. Most of the money i've spent on its a waste too to most people.

Awesome work with the big 2 week job thingo (you need a label for it - The Two Week Fiasco?)
I know what you mean about needing the car back, all the big jobs on my car keep being put off because I just stress too much if I need the car in a few days. The most rewarding work I have done on my car was a relatively small job over a few days but I had 2 weeks off, so I could do a few hours a day and then leave it if I was getting frustrated. Made it so much better. If we had room, I'd buy a second car just to have for when I do these jobs.

I'm curious about how far from the ground your front guards are (just to compare with mine) and whether you got or are planning to get a sump guard?

Nice score on the interior, where did you score the R32 seats from (and for how much)?
I'd love to get a sit in the R32 seats to see how much of a difference they make from the stock seats (more interested in the different shape and depth than anything else, though won't say no to the improved supportNothing to see here...

Ah a mates misfortune shall we say, Haven't actually figured out the price yet as it depends on how much im taking.
They're really nice, Way more supportive and the bolsters really keep you in through the tight turns. Really holds you in compared to the stock leather.
