  • So had a busy weekend with Seb. Cleaned the car for the first time since February, forgot how white it was!

Cleaned up the engine bay, installed single mass flywheel and Stage 5 South Bend Clutch, dummy fitted exhaust manifold, turbo, wastegate, intake manifold and rocker cover (will need these on for fabricator to work his magic)

Chucked the gearbox on, then engine went in ( a lot harder than it sounds haha)

Also got my 25mm front and 21mm rear H&R Swaybars installed.

Unfortuately, the down pipe will need a lot of modification, so I've just opted to get a new one made up. More $$ but #yolo #swag etc.

Overall very happy with the progress this weekend, just very frustrated at how much extra money this project has cost.

      • Haha cheers Tommy!

Hey, did you have to use shorter bolts for your engine mount? We were struggling a bit with that.

        • Nope, used the stock bolts without issues.

Seb should be able to solve this!!!!

Yeh, seems to go hand in hand with modifying cars haha

                • Was down in Melbourne last weekend for a mates wedding. Perfect opportunity to pick up some parts.
MKIV R32 Golf seats. The holy grail of MKIV seats (well in my opinion haha)
Mint condition except for a little wear on the drivers side bolster. Picked them up for a steal too
Can't wait to fit these to the bora, which will complete my R32 interior (also picked up some R32 pedals.)
Thanks to Dylan for the roof over my head and the help getting parts etc

After 4 weeks of my car sitting at the fabricators, untouched...
It is off to Liverpool Exhaust on Monday for 3" stainless downpipe and exhaust. Hopefully they actually have time to work on the car. Sick of waiting for other people. /end rant

                  • Finally got my down pipe and exhaust made. Fully stainless: 3" down pipe, 200 cel cat, centre resonator and rear muffler. Can't wait to hear it roar!

This cost me $1980, which in my opinion, is pretty cheap! Not powdercoated. Apparently, Liverpool Exhaust paint their exhausts to stop customers asking why their exhaust turns purple (due to the heat).

Videos as soon as I get the car running. Only boost piping and ceramic coating to go!

                              • You have me on the edge of my chair Simon. Amazing build mate. Looks and sounds the business I have to commend you on a job well done. Any more plans? or are you satisfied with it's power/handling/aesthetics etc?

Any updates? I'd love to see more photos if possible

It would be an absolute pleasure to get the chance to see this beast in the flesh one day.
