Trust me, you will need (WANT!) a rear swaybar, it is the best bang-for-buck mod you could do to your suspension! I love it!

It's been two weeks now, and as i suspected, there was no settling of height
You might get settling with king springs, but H&R springs settle very quickly
Here is the before pic:
And the after pic
As you can see, back is the same height as before, and the front has dropped a little.
It's not the best place to do a comparison photo but that was the only before shot i really had.
It actually sits higher than that pic because of the slope.
Here's a pic from the other side with the new suspension. you can even see almost the entire yellow bump stop in the rear
Measurements from ground to fender on level (i.e carpark) ground still show about the same as last measurements
So front went from an average of 666mm --> 654mm = 12mm drop
Rear went from an average of 671mm --> 669mm = 2mm drop
That's 15mm of rake!
not happy!
I knew i should have gone coilovers. i'm ok with the front drop, but not with the rears being almost the exact height as before.
and i've checked the part numbers for the rear springs, they're 54725 R, which is correct i believe for the whole package part number which is 29526-2Last edited by McDub; 22-08-2010, 05:43 PM.

I'll have to measure my pro-kits for comparison. Personally I don't mind having my car that height, it's a good practical level.03 MkIV GTI - K04-001, APR 2.5" TBE/TIP/Software, Forge FMIC, GFB DV+, Powergasket+, Dark Tint, 17" Bora Sport, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, BMC CDA, Dieselgeek SS, Hella Celis, R32 Alloy Trim...

yeah that'd be good if you could measure yours.
and yeah i'm happy with the front height, it looks ok and is practical (eg. having to drive over those giant speedbumps at north curly carpark on the northern beaches, honestly don't know how i don't scrape they're like 200mm off the ground!)

And your springs are rated at 1.2" drop all around, mine are 1.6"F 1.4"R, so all things being equal you'd expect my front to be 10mm lower than yours in the front, and 5mm lower than yours in the rear.
hmmm suppose it's not hugely off...
ahhh well lesson learnt, should have gotten coilovers, i'm too fussy!

madglf3: currently have the JOM coilovers in the car. (big thread on vortex about them)
I'm pretty happy with them. my last car had lowered suspension and the ride was soo much firmer it was ridiculous.. still can be bumpy at times but for the most part i'm very happy especially for the price. (paid $660ish delievered from the UK - maybe a bit too cheap :s )
here's how it looks (sorry bout the phone pic) also needs way more offset to actually have the stance i'm after. looking for rims at the moment
Platinum Grey mkV Jetta turbo, Viezu motorsport map, GT-CX 18", lowering to come
