The R32 seats aren't recaro's, they're made by Konig and I disagree about the wheel. It's much better than the standard MK4 3 spoke.

I agree with you on the wheel. It's a hell of a lot meatier than the standard 3-spoke, it also has some nice shape to it (as an example - scallops on the outside of the rim for just below your hands when you hold it at the correct 9-3 position), both of which combine to make it a much nicer wheel to hold.

You can pick up a good condition 2nd hand R32 wheel for ~$500, or pay about $800 for a newie landed from overseas.
      Nothing to see here...

I believe it was imported from NZ - have a search through the Mk 4 section, it's been discussed plenty of times so you should be able to find some more info on it.

On that basis, they may not even recognise it since it wasn't an AU model.
belive it was a direct import from the UK when the owner moved over here from there

The Mk4 R32 in the Targa Tasmania "Showroom" class that I was servicing for definitely had slits in its front seats for harnesses. Maybe they were added after the fact? They certainly looked good enough to be OEM though!

It's my GTI. My set is from one of the VW factory R32 race cars. Aside from the other race cars, they're the only set I've seen with two rear head rests. I'm not sure which country they're from.

Konig sells these seats as K5000's and they can be ordered with harness slits.

I think Al spoke with Konig and they sent him a few parts to modify his R32 seats, but they were found to be incompatible as the VW seats don't have the internal bracing?
Can't remember the exact details as it's been a few years, but it'd be on the VWvortex R32 forums.

Anyway, the point of this story is that VW R32 Konigs don't have harness slits.

I was getting confused with that import Bora (badged as a Jetta) which someone posted recently.
