yeh as i said, i've put a bigger inlet pipe into the box so everything should be fine.. it's all working great so far, loving the induction noise.

maybe a performance panel air filter in the box.

I've never actually seen any proof that so-called performance filters really improve airflow over the OEM paper filters. I have actually seen evidence to the contrary, with before and after air pressure readings taken with each filter type (to measure pressure drop)...
