My dad's Jetta 2.0T with OEM 18s is off next October. The balloon buy or whatever is $16k... when cars like that go to auction (if not privately bought) they will sell for nothing.

I've been watching the red book on my 03 Bora lately.

Must be cause I'm a masochist as the value is going down at what seems a grand a month.

Earlier this year it was around $18K know it is more like $13K

I've got my MK4 GTI for sale at the moment. It's been up for 2 weeks on carsales and I have had only 1 call. I'm asking $16,900 but would reasonably take in the higher $15K's. Personally I think it's an awesome car for combination of safety, performance and euro in a hatchback but obviously the market doesn't think so.

We all know sadly that mods don't really add value to the car and at absolute best you may if you're very lucky get 50% back on the cost of the mods (not labour!).

I'm just seriously surprised that I have not had more calls. Maybe I am expecting too much?
