You got the windows done with VAG-COM?

The dash work requires VAG-TACHO I believe.
    Nothing to see here...

Speak to graeme86 he has already done his own, mine and a few others as well, and can tell you exactly how to program it.

Nope, I did the windows with a 'Serial' Vag-Com Cable & Software called VDS-pro.

Ok, just to put this thread to bed, I have done the mods I wanted to.

            1. Windows Up/Down via FOB - Serial Vag Com Cable (ebay rip-off) & VDS Pro

            2. Distance to Empty - Vag Tacho (USB) cable (ebay rip-off) & Vag Tacho 2.5

            3. Lit Needles & Gauges (all the time, not just when the headlights are turned on) - Vag Tacho (USB) cable (ebay rip-off) & Vag Tacho 2.5

            4. My 4 Digit PIN Code for the Cluster - Vag Tacho (USB) cable (ebay rip-off) & Vag Tacho 2.5. I should now be able to program my own FOB Keys.

All up, these two cables cost me $55, not a bad way to spend a lazy fitty....

Anyone in Melb (North/West) want to get some of these mods done, let me know via PM.

            Cheers

remember, 03 models onwards this will work on only with vds.

wil not work on the motometers!

do the windows go up with just the one press of the remote? cos if that's the case, there are times when you want the windows open a bit in summer when you lock.

if it's a hold dow thing or press twice that'd be cool, because having to insert the key into the drivers door to auto close all windows when you forget is a little annoying after the novelty wears off. (i only learnt of this standard feature a few days ago!)

You need to hold the unlock button down to open all the windows and hold the lock button down to close all the windows (even the sunroof )

Its a little involved if you have never played with DOS or a HEX Editor before.

Nothing a step by step tutorial cant help solve.....

Let me know if you want help doing it.

You'll need both cables though and a laptop with seral connection.

                      Cheers
