The bora v6's have a 62 litre tank. When I fill up which is normally as soon as the fuel reserve comes on, I put in about 56 Litres leaving me with about 6 litres.Audi B4 80 Q V6'94 Race Car !! KEGGED

Never as far as you hope. I've run the Bora dry once - it's something I'll never do again.
If you have the right cluster, you can get DTE added with VAG Tacho - but again, it's an estimate, you're better to not delay once the light comes on - the last bits of fuel in the tank are likely to be the dirtiest as well, and at best that'll clog your fuel filter faster than normal...Nothing to see here...

Yeah, in my old Bora (2.0L manual petrol) I accidentally did a reserve test on it after Christmas and it'll handle about 60km's. I found as soon as the light comes on you tend to drive a little more conservatively anyway, which stretches it out a bit further. Check your manual though, it should tell you how much fuel you have left when the light comes on.sigpic

I've managed 70kms in stop start peak hour highway crawling before. It was the most tense hour or so of driving I've done. As we all know the R doesn't have the best economy and I was just watching it the whole time willing to make it to my local servo.
For a 62L tank I put 61.5L in. Not sure how much is still in the lines etc but either way I try not to do that too often.
Cheers,

I just had to drive over 100kms country driving with the light on, the gauge
dropped quickly from 1/4 to empty.
I had to check the book for tank size (7L reserve), gradually dropping my speed to about 80kmh and trying to stay around 6L/100km.
I made it with about 2L to spare, but being on a road with almost no traffic
when it's getting late and its wet isn't much fun, and keeping the radio, lights and wipers off, and not using cruise as it kills the economy on hills.
