Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • The above fitment, the below tyres...
    215/40 Front:

    225/40 Rear:

The stretch is actually the same, only 5mm or so difference. Reason i underlined it is because that above are legal so i dont think its worthy haha

          • So my little secret came out on display for Nats:

Photos by: Rob32R, Fuzion, Schoona, MiKe1_golf

On other notes. I picked up 1st Best Sedan at Nationals! thanks to all those that supported me/my car (my wheels lol), Tim for being my cleaning mentor, Jess for organizing the trip and Kirst for putting up with me and my addiction.

The night before the trip I was set to give the car some more lows. Only to find my sway bar had been rubbing so badly that it has worn a hole and cracked my control arms.. So dad chopped up what was left of my whiteline end links (already snapped them after a week of use) and created some fixed length metal end links slightly longer then OEM

This stopped my rubbing on the control arms and I think i only touched the drive shafts over big bumps.
my suspension was also a lot nicer to drive on, apparently this is because my springs basically only worked when uncompressing, compressing over bumps was pretty much no existent due to the sway bar sitting on the control arms.

approximately 2500km covered over my long w.e, average fuel usage of 7lt per 100km (highway and city driving)

Changes to the car will slow for a while as I build up my project vento to get it on the road. once that is up and running the Bora will then hopefully be getting air ride. follwoing this... a new front lip, badgeless grille, shaved boot, respray of bonnet and boot, euro plates, show only bbs rs.
and if all is going well a 1.8t or diesel swap

                    • Nothing new, just some shots from the weekend. while the car did seem to sit a little funny in this shot and sitting what i think looks higher then normal up front, itll be getting more lows anyways, need to get tyres in guards.
Cheers to the melbourne crew for helping me all weekend as usual

                        • not the best shot, does look alot lower in real life.

Sits just about perfect (height, wheel specs, tyres specs) for a daily, imo!
