dont know what the milltek is like, but the billy boats wasnt too bad to fit. i had to cut out the stock rear end of the exhaust though, couldnt pull it out without it being on a hoist.
Also the rear hanger on the BB makes the exhaust sit quite high, so you do have to do a bit of rear bar trimming.
I've got the discrete downturned tips so the valance shouldn't be an issue.
Heard about the need to cut the stock pipe. Can you get it out in one piece if you get the car up high enough?
Spent the last couple of days getting the GTI nice and tidy with clean/wax/interior detail. Getting ready to sell, so i can get myself a good tow vehicle to tow my track car...
i wanted to save mine too. My housemate (a mechanic) seemed to think if it was on a hoist, you would get that little more give as the rear driveshaft etc droops. If you can access a hoist easily, id try and save your muffler. i was too far into the process to stop.
good luck.

OK so I guess if I can get her up on chassis stands at the rear it would have the same affect?
BTW rear driveshaft??!?!? You talking about an R32?
front sway bar out! OMG NO NOISE!!! I dont care that my car drives like a bag of dirty washing (its probably comparable to mums stock focus or dads top heavy jeep), the fact its not chewing on my driveshafts is amazing.
Now to return the bar and get some better quality H&R sways all round.
22mm up front and 25mm rear, sound good to people?

Damn Dylan, that just keeps on getting nicer and nicer...
I think it's sitting at the perfect ride height... any lower and it wouldn't feel right to drive... i.e. harsh, no handling, etc...
Also, why did you remove the swaybar?

Thanks.
already has a harsh ride and no handling due to the suspension geometry being so out of wack, the bushes in my control arms and rear beam completely gone, and no sway bar.
The stock bar has to be removed once you lower the car past a certain point. Ill be doing a write up of it soon...
Its taken me 2 years to get it right, and apparently the best option was just to remove it... I dont plan on running without for long, while the car just feels like a stock car in the bends, I did enjoy having it stick flat to the road
Dylan inspired me so went and gave the old girl a wash, was so dirty it was more charcol than black. Will grab some pics tomorrow in the sun and try to get some distance so the lights stand out more
