What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

had someone pass me in their white rx7 (i think) on the weekend, and they politely floored it as they went past. The blowoff valve (i presume) was so loud and shrill it acatually hurt my ffn ears! was like they attached a whistle to it or something. not cool.

Yeah not a fan of wanky BOV's. (I run a factory S6 BOV on my current S3, so is quiet as.)
415rwhp at only 14psi. That motor and fuel set up could easily run 25psi. Munch munch!

Still prefer VAG for daily driving and fuel efficiency though.

Changed the gearbox oil from unknown to Redline MTL. Gotta say, went in quicker than i thought as i expected a thick gel-like liquid but it went in easy. One bottle went in in about a minute.

I ended up using 2 and 3/4 bottles, so i know the box is nice and full now.

Trouble is, I can't notice a freaking thing other than a very slight "easeness" in the shifts. Bear in mind I have a Dieselgeek short shifter so its notchy I know, plus I didn't know what was in the box prior so no real basis for comparison.

I didn't get a sample (was going to, but it was late and cold) but the oil that came out seemed very light in texture and almost purple in the light, though was clearly brown. Brown is the word though, as it definitely wasn't black.

I also noticed the drain plug felt really "gritty" when i was putting it back in. Could that be swarf? Or as it was quite windy and i was working outdoors, maybe it was some wind-blown grit?

Should I have expected a huge change in the first place? Have i misread all the amazing reports? Or possibly my box was fine the way it was, and the notchy Dieselgeek shifter has masked the smooth shift? bah, i dunno.

they are actually orange, they can look a little cheap at times but otherwise they give a nice burnt orange under the right light

still making power at redline so obviously needs increased rev limit.
Even more pissed now that my C2 flashed ECU doesnt bloody work.
Not sure wether I ship it back and see whats wrong with it, look at an australian flasher (any recommendations?) or give up.

I was expecting maybe 5hp more, hadnt seen any back to back runs for cams anywhere really so didnt have big expectations.
C2 said first that it could be a MAF sensor problem - unlikely considering the std ECU works perfectly.

can you pull codes off with scanner on c2 ecu?

is c2 recommending sending unit back, or?

I dont have a scanner, and Golfwagen says that mine cant be scanned (possibly an issue with the OBDII port).
I think i'll have to take apart the dash to see what is going on with that.
