Did the Dogbone mount and installed N75J valve.
WOW what a difference that has made to the car, feels like a new car!
There isn't much of a lag and the power come on way smother than before.
If you guys haven't don this already its a must on the list.
also i thought my clutch was on its wayout before the DB mount and now it grabs straight away so much easier than having to ease out the clutch...

Pierre, how'd you manage that?? Were you red-lining or dumping the clutch?

Do we know which part of the 'box fails? If it's down to uprated torque going through it and it's bolts failing, like in the pic posted earlier, then this might be something all owners with uprated power and torque values could look at doing. It might be as simple as changing the grade of the bolts etc....
Is it just the early MkIV's that used the rivets instead of bolts in the gearbox? I have read several posts about changing these over to bolts, is this a similar failure point in the GTi boxes, like yours fuzion, that have failed? Obviously they aren't rivets, but if it's as simple as uprated bolt values....eg 8.8 grade up to 10.9 or 12.9 etc.....sigpic

I'm keen to see whether you have the earlier or later style gear box (unless the linkages were the only difference anyways...). I might think twice about the **** i give my car on the way to work...although i do try to keep it in moderation...

Fuzion, I've got the standard 4th to 6th gears and input shaft from an O2M here. If you're interested in them or are puting in a 6 speed box let me know. We found it was around 1/4 of the price ordering everyting from TM Tuning when we dedided to go to shorter gears, though for the 1.8T it will be easy enough to find a box at the wreckers.
Cheers Al

my car would of been on the road yesterday..
howeeeeeeeeever, Tommy with his R32 came here and we put his BBS CH Wheels on. Unfortunately he had 15mm spacers on rear + extended lugs. His extended lugs weren't useful without the spacers and the bbs's on .. So i had to give him my lugs from my car so my car is still on the hoist lol.
Got spares at home, so brought them in today.
So thanks to Jade Auto tommy's r32 now looks like this...
(camera phone pic, sorry guys!)What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

How nice of you!
What would happen if you didin't use the spacers?
Are the spacers only used to increase the offset?
