No, I haven't but generally has a good rep. The car was running Mobil 1 15w-50 due to the higher kms but Mobil 1 are no longer producing oil? So the 15w-50 is becoming like hens teeth.Originally posted by Big_M View PostNice
Royal Purple huh. Used it before ?
Car feels so much better now with all of the above done, wallet is destroyed thanks to VW's excessive price markup on parts ... $38ea for a spark plug STFU!!!!!!!!!!

Gave the car a wash (first since the day before Nationals... whoops)
used the 'soap' attachment on my gerni for the first time, worked a treat in lifting all the rubbish off as a pre soak

Got a new tail light.
Saw an ad on gumtree, could not have been better luck.
A lady broke the right hand tail light years ago, VW would only supply a pair, so the left one was left in the shed. Now that she has sold the car the left one was useless to her.
The Mrs picked it up today when visiting grandma as the gold coast.
It includes the bulb carrier and 5 bulbs. Has a VW part sticker, perfect condition OEM.
Total cost $45. farking good result or what ?

I love gumtree. A very similar thing happened to me, i needed a rear rhs light for my series 2 bmw e30. Wreckers wanted $150+ and i was scared to call BMW. Found it on gumtree, brand new in a BMW box for $35!!Originally posted by JustCruisn View PostGot a new tail light.

Spent the day getting ready to purchase a brand new car for my misses (ironically), parked at the local shops to get the deposit money out (Broadmeadows Shopping Centre, Melbourne), and come back to find this on the car...

Sigh... no "major damage", all panel work (thankfully).
Need a new bumper, side fender, wheel arch housing, headlight, and possibly a new hood, but a mate tells me its possible to bang it out. Oh and the drivers door won't open because it's jarred in by the fender, with a dint on that too.
I don't even want to know how much this is going to cost me... Unfortunately I'm on 3rd Party Insurance, due to me wanting to purchase a new car next year. But I did want to sell this, so I'll have to repair!
What a f'ing day!

Yikes! I'd be gutted if I got back to my car and someone had just driven off after doing that - random carpark scratches are bad enough.Originally posted by damianzmd View PostSpent the day getting ready to purchase a brand new car for my misses (ironically), parked at the local shops to get the deposit money out (Broadmeadows Shopping Centre, Melbourne), and come back to find this on the car...

Hope you get it sorted soon.
