How much did all the lights set you back? If you don't mind me asking. Also I reckon you should do some sort of install thread.

Today I jumped in the Golf only to feel dampness in the drivers foot well. Boooooo!

This happened a few weeks ago too, but I thought I must've left the window a tiny bit open. But last night, with all the rain in Sydney, I double checked that all the windows were up to the top when I left it for the night, and I ended up with water again. This definitely does not happen all the time, only seems to be if it rains quite alot, maybe even a couple of days' worth.

So, if not windows, what else? The door seal on the body shows a fair bit of moisture at the bottom.. ??

Any 'normal' places these things are known to leak?

      Any help is much appreciated!!

We paid $6200, 193K on the odometer and it's black. We were looking on and off for several months but kept an eye on the classifieds all the time. All electrics works, and it's mechanically sound. I'm the 3rd owner, 2nd owner had it for 10 years. Service intervals were done, it just needed a good clean and a major service.

Mine has a small water leak near the rear door. After all this rain the carpet behind the passenger seat is only slightly damp and dries quickly so the leak must be miner. It's either coming from the door seal or the sunroof.

Try cleaning the door rubbers especially the bottom ones.
what's the condition of the door rubbers?

Nope, no sunroof. The door seals 'look' absolutely fine, but I feel it's that as it's wet there, and on the bottom of the door in the morning. More wet than the other doors.

What do I do next? I'm low on cash as I've just bought all the parts for: water pump, timing belt kit, rocker cover gasket + most other gaskets while I'm at it (VRS kit).

Is there anything else it could be, like in the bottom of the door etc, besides the main door seal around the door opening on the body??

                • My mk4 R32 was parked on the side of a quite street today and a delivery driver decided to smash into the side of it! To make things worse he was going to do a runner but lucky I just caught him b for he got away! So its booked in the body shop Monday morning to get the drivers side door, wing, wing mirror, bonnet and bumper repaired, the only good thing about this is I had it booked in the body shop in two weeks to get the bonnet resprayed so at least it's not going to cost me now. Also was getting it lowered this weekend so going to have to wait now till I get it back, gutted! Have been waiting ages to get it done.

                  That's all, rant over...............

                    • Finally got the R32 stock susp in and the Weitecs out for sale. I lost a mad ride height and some nice firm cornering, but the R32 stuff ain't half bad at all.
Also got rid of the squeak - turned out to be 2 more failed Gruven arms. I just cannot win. I wont say more till i get the problem addressed directly with Gruvenparts, but this failure was downright dangerous and the susp guys were pretty alarmed.
least the squeak is gone now - i was about to stab myself in the eye with a pen it was that bad.

                      • Lucky you got there in time to catch him mate.

Still just think when you get it back it'll be all fresh and then can get it lowered and it'll be looking great once more.

What body shop is doing the work ?

Tire rack 800 shipped to my door. All the 2wd cars use the same suspension so just make sure you don't use the awd and you will be fine

                                Water leaks are PITA.
Should be a seal on the bottom of the door, make sure its free of dirt
