My car will hit 100,000kms either tonight or tomorrow
I gave it a wash, vacuum, armorall, tyre shine etc on Friday.
On Sunday it got an oil and filter change and I serviced the K&N panel filter as well. Had lots of dead bugs etc in it. Ew. Car feels much stronger now though!
Off topic - I helped a friend stare at his broken commodore too.
One of the (newly fitted) suspension struts had punched a hole in the bonnet!!!
Can't say I (or he) did anything useful to fix it, though we did scratch our heads and swear a bit.
Washed, Waxed, Polished the .:R yesterday. Looks so great today but am sure a bird will ruin that shortly. Helps that a mate imports Mothers products into Aus.
Well... he's a mechanic and he did it himself, so its possible that he buggered up the installation, o that the KYB strut was faulty. Probably the former.
picked up my car which just had the ecs 14lbs single mass flywheel put in, and BFI 65A hardness dogbone/torquearm bushes.
and it's probably a combination of the two, the car is damn noisy inside now, particularly under 2000rpm... it's sort of nice to feel the engine more... but i'm a little annoyed at how much louder it is inside the cabin... and it makes things rattle too... i hate rattles! stock exhaust btw.
what do you think is the main culprit? losing the vibration dampening dual mass flywheel, or putting in harder dogbone bushes?
Pre DOVW (last weekend) i got the gearbox in (a massive thanks to Seb from Euro Automotive for saving me and getting me to melb basically). Got a new starter motor as mine started to make noise a while ago so thought why not. Also 2x new KU31 tyres which all in all really hurt my pocket something severe pre melbourne drive!
In melbourne.... After a few months of being next to my fish tanks i decided to get the porsche setup finally on .. even got around to swapping all rotors to ate power discs as well (which goes a massive thanks to Tim [golfworx] for all his help over the w/e down in melbourne!).
taped her up for the drive down
gave her a quick once over in melb (pre buffed/detailed whilst on hoist waiting for gearbox) and there she was.. killing my pocket and done for now.
Changed the center front console to get rid if the peeling trims, now looks like new, just needs "blacking" abit to match the older trims, oh yeh and remembered to transfered the R 200 No57 badge over!! -Vw-
