Washed, polished and then went for a short blast with the VWWatercooled SA guys. Then convinced the wife to change the colour of our wheels. Thanks for having me even though it was short lived.

Received the DRL/indicator/fogs the other day - wouldn't have a clue how to go about installing them!
I finally got around to installing mine the other day.
After soo long looking at Mk4 Golf parts whilst ordering everything else recently, it seems i went that extra mile and ordered Golf spotlights for my Bora
Einstein right here <
Spoze i should see if i can get any interest in them in the for sale forums and get the correct parts lol.
It has not been a good week for my Bora.
I had my H&R coilovers get caught up in customs and they now want $200 to release them
Also found a CV boot need replacing.
Installed a new left hand side motor mount (transmission mount). Finally found the cause of shudder on take off Easy install, only took about an hour all up
Pulled my boot badge apart and painted it , just need to put it back together also can u bug just the sticky backing from vw for the badge ??
Looks great mate, just rip all that sticky stuff off and replace with some good quality, automotive double sided tape. I used 3m and it's yet to fall off
I received a nice surprise in the mail today. Apparently Aus customs deemed my H&R coilovers to be worth less than $1000 despite my telling them i payed $1135 for them?
Not complaining at all. I was not expecting to see them for at least another week and was also expecting a bill for >$300 for the pleasure.

I purchased a bunch of stuff totaling around $1300. The rest made it through ok but the coilover got caught in customs and stayed there for 2 weeks before being released. I told them that the original parts i ordered totaled less than $1k and i had been upgraded and given free postage(upgraded yes but not free postage). I guess i got lucky... or unlucky depending on which way you look at it.
Can't wait to see what difference they make.
Still need some rack ends and a CV boot though.
EDIT:
I managed to snap the ECS strut top wrench on my first strut top bold. $15 not well worth spending.
Time to fire up the air compressor!
DOUBLE EDIT:
OK! Got the fronts done.
The passenger side strut did not want come out without some persuasion but both sides are in now. I did not make any height adjustments before putting them in but it appears to be around an inch lower than it previously was.
Got the rear jacked up and started by removing the shock but thats as far as i got before i packed it in for the night.
TRIPLE EDIT: All done!
All up it took around 5 1/2 hours. The rears only took about 90 minutes to get done.
Silly (lack of) H&R documentation was not clear on trimming the rear bump stops or not though or to use the silicone wax lube stuff on them either. Either way, i have what seems to be an obligatory right rear knock? Checked the rear trailing arms and they were tight as a you know what so i don't think it is them?
Anyway. Around 1" lower front and 3/4" lower at the rear. Slight toe in noticeable on the rear and very slight negative camber on the front. The front does not worry me but the rear tires will not be liking the toe in.
Btw fellow mk4 owners, i thought i would do a shout out for people who are looking to buy a clutch/flywheel kit from ecs tuning. I am looking to share postage with someone ideally from Brisbane.
The clutch kit will be around $450 delivered for a Sachs clutch and pressure plate, all bolts and a 14lbs or 21lbs flywheel.
Good value when compared to local price of $580, not including bolts!
so gearbox is off again, same with the whole clutch kit to see why my engine wont turn with the new clutch kit in. also managed to removed the bolt that was screwed. good old hammer and socket hoping i can figure this problem out soon because i am really over it.

There has to be evidence on the flywheel or bell housing where the problem lies.
